~ Symposium: Set Fire to the Rain! ~

Hello Everyone! Welcome to my March Symposium!

Since this is my birthday month, I was doing some reflecting back on everything that I have learned since I published my first book in Oct 2012. Has it really only been that long? LOL

In honor of the start to my new year, I thought I would asked my friends and fellow authors to share some lessons they have learned since they’ve been writing. Their remarks are extremely insightful to new writers, as well as authors who have been writing for years. Find out what they had to say!

LAURIE ROMA: If there is one thing I have learned about being an author, it is that you NEVER stop learning. Before I published my first book, I graduated from law school (we won’t go into that *shivers, oh the horror*), and I was also an editor and a screenwriter. Each field has its own challenges, but the reality that I’ve learned is that in anything you do, if you stop learning, you stop improving. With each book I write, I always want it to be better than the last. Sure, each series I write has different themes, and may be in different genres, but the ultimate goal I set for myself is to entertain my readers by stepping my game up. With that said, the advice I can impart on any new authors out there is that you can’t please everyone. Get used to it. From what I was told when I was just starting out, the better you are doing, the MORE you will get critiqued. I say…bring the rain.

On a personal note: I would like to thank everyone for your kind birthday wishes, and for making the release of HAMMER'S FALL so wonderful. I'm so pleased that you have let Hammer and the other Breakers' Bad Boys into your hearts…and I wish you all your very own Happily Ever After!

Bakery owner, Kalista Redford, is a woman who has had a difficult past. N.J. WALTERS: Writing is a very rewarding profession. It’s also a very lonely and sometimes difficult way to make a living. One thing I’ve learned in this business is that you have to grow a bit of a thick skin and learn to take criticism. Whether it comes in the form of a rejection letter, a scathing review, an anonymous personal attack on social media or from an editor who wants you to change something in your books, you have to learn to accept these things with grace and move on. Ranting on social media will only hurt yourself. This is a small community and once you’ve put things out there in the public arena you can’t take them back. It’s fine to cry and rant in private and complain to your spouse, but then you have to let it go. Remember, this is a business and you should be professional at all times...even if it isn’t always easy.

A vampire’s heart is not meant to beat this fast
Legacy, Book 7

Craig Lawton’s life is full. Filled with normal things like work as a video-game creator and financial investor, and not-so-normal things like two half-werewolf siblings and a vampire best friend.

He’s accustomed to being the only human in the room…until he attempts to help a desperate, newly made vampire in the throes of her first transformation.

Evie Pelowski is a woman alone. Left alone in a filthy alley to become a monster like the one that attacked her, unable to control the bloodlust surging through her veins. Now she’s done the unforgivable—turned her Good Samaritan into a monster just like her.

They must face the future while coming to grips with their new realities. But despite a strong bond ignited by blood and forged in the heat of sexual desire, despite Craig’s unshakeable determination to teach her to trust, Evie knows nothing she loves ever stays. Especially when the vampire who made her wants her back—and he’ll kill anyone who gets in his way.

GABRIELLE EVANS: The most important lesson I’ve learned since beginning this journey is that it’s okay to NOT write. I have a husband, two school-age children, soccer practice, errands to run, laundry to fold, and often times, life just gets in the way. I’m human. I get sick or distracted or upset, and some days, the words just aren’t there. It happens, and that’s okay. When I first began writing, I’d flog myself mercilessly if I didn’t write at least three thousand words every single day. If I didn’t write, I felt guilty about not writing. If I was writing and neglecting other responsibilities, I felt guilty for that. It’s all very time-consuming and exhausting, though, but now that I’ve accepted the fact I’m human and not a machine, life and writing are much more enjoyable.

Moira Gilson has always been different, though she never fully understood why. Dedicating her life to protecting a sibling she’d never met was the easy part. Finding her own happiness will take a bit more work.

Rumors spread like poison when Brock Lancaster disappeared in the middle of the night, leaving behind an alpha legacy. Nearly a year later, he’s back. Not to claim his rightful place as leader of the pack but to protect the woman he loves—and he’s not alone.

Koba Blackheart would rather avoid conflict when possible. Having two mates constantly at each other’s throats is the epitome of conflict, especially since Brock and Moira have a history and he’s the odd man out.

Danger creeps ever closer, and their rocky relationship will soon be put to the test. Can the three recognize the true meaning of family? Or will they crumble under their own selfishness?

JENIKA SNOW: There is a lot of advice I could give a new or aspiring author. But I think the one that would mean the most would be to never give up and keep trying. When I got that acceptance phone call in 2009 it hadn't come easily. There was many rejection letters, a lot of disappointment, and thoughts that I wasn't ever going to have my dream fulfilled. I can't tell an author not to worry because they always will--I still do five years later. What I can say is that all it takes is that one acceptance out of many rejections to have you realize that you finally made it. What isn't right for one publisher is perfect for another. So, don't give up, no matter what.

She wasn't supposed to be his obsession.

Tallin "Jagger" Landon isn't a good man. In fact, he isn't a man at all but a bear shifter and the President of the Grizzly MC. When he takes in a wounded female of a rival MC, retaliation from that club is inevitable. But Jagger doesn't expect to be so territorial of a female that isn't even his.

Sonya White is desperate for a way out, and will do just about anything for her freedom. Taken as a teenager by Trick, the Wolverine MC President, she has been the sexual plaything for the sadistic shifter for years. But the drama keeps unfolding when the dominant and possessive Jagger keeps declaring that Sonya is his, a jealous club whore, and Trick coming back to settle the score. Sonya can either run from the MC life, or let Jagger claim her fully like he demands.

SUSAN HAYES: As writers, we are both a person and a business, all wrapped up in one caffeine-fuelled package of creative humanity. Every writer shares pieces of themselves in their stories, but in the digital age we also tweet, like, post, blog, and pin our names, our thoughts, and our lives all over social media. When you are your brand, you have to be aware that everything you say will be read by your potential audience, and not all of them are going to share your opinions, politics, beliefs or causes. The internet is forever, so before you start tweeting and posting, think about not just what you the person want to say, but what you, the writer want attached to your name…forever.

In the aftermath of a war that almost destroyed Earth, the Alliance now rules, but not everyone chooses to live by their laws. Alliance Elites Nikolai Grekov and Colin Nielson are stationed at a neglected base on the edge of the badlands after years spent in space. Their orders are to track down an elusive thief that’s been plaguing the area’s outposts, but they also have their own agenda. Both men want to find and claim a fertile woman to call their own and fulfill their dreams of becoming a family.

When the men catch the sexy, headstrong, thief breaking into their home, they claim Alayna for their own. Nikolai and Colin may have claimed their chosen, but the battle for her heart has just begun. Can they find a way to win her trust or will their beautiful renegade’s need for freedom destroy their chance of happiness?

STACEY ESPINO: Since I started writing I’ve learned that being successful as an author is a fine balancing act. Not only do you have to write what sells, but it’s extremely important to love what you write. Once you find that balance, the sky is the limit. I find my best work is when I’m fully engrossed in the book, love my characters, and get excited about writing each day. When I have to force my muse, the writing suffers and the lack of passion shows in the words. So embrace the things that inspire you, and regardless of the genre, put your heart and soul into your characters. Your readers will thank you for it!

Eva Ford lives a sheltered life on her small rural farm. At twenty-two, she feels the need to spread her wings and start her own life, planning a trip to the city to show her prized cows. Colton and North McReed from the next ranch over are determined to make sure she stays out of trouble.

Twin brothers, Colton and North, have always loved little Eva. She's their rock in life, the one pure thing in their otherwise dark existence. Their abusive father ran out on the family years ago and their mother suffers from a serious addiction. They never look at Eva with desire...until they spend a week alone with her in the city.

Everything changes when Eva and the cowboys realize just how deep their love for each other runs. Once their passion is unleashed, it's impossible to contain. But can their unorthodox relationship last? Will sex ruin the friendship of a lifetime?

HENNESSEE ANDREWS: Out of all the lessons I have learned in my writing journey, there is one that trumps all. To any new aspiring writer, remember, not everyone will enjoy your writing. As much as we’d like to please each and every reader, the fact is, it is an impossible task. Cherish your positives reviews, and understand you won’t be everyone’s cup of tea when you get a negative review. Write what “You” like to read. Please yourself first and enjoy what your mind creates.

Joe Ray Mullins can’t escape the sins of his father and is constantly looking over his shoulder. Trouble seems to lurk everywhere he goes. When two men are looking for him at a rodeo, he is leery because his father has recently been paroled from prison, and many are seeking to find him.

Christian Wright didn’t want to be in Kansas City with the owner of the XYZ Ranch, Zander Wesley, scouting for new members to begin with. He liked the event even less when the hot calf roper, Zander, who he has his sights set on, sticks a gun to his head in the restroom. They cut their losses and chalk up the event as nothing more than time wasted.

When they find Joe Ray badly beaten in the parking lot, they miss their flight in order to get him to safety. Who knew the bad boy image Joe Ray projected is nothing more than a ruse?

CORINNE DAVIES: Patience! Wow, I never knew how much I would need when I first started down this path as a professional writer. Something I’m still working on, as I’m not the most patient person. LOL I’ve learned you have to be patient with yourself and patient with the story. Some books are easier to write than others and you can’t rush one that isn’t ready to be written. You need to be patient and let it percolate in the back of your head for a while and let your subconscious work out the fine details. Once you have the book written you have to exercise your patience muscles again waiting to hear back if your book has been accepted, then through edits and edits and edits, and then waiting for release day which is the hardest one sometimes. But, all that patience is worth it in the end. :)

Clara Fitch is terrified of the violent side of her nature and has worked hard to suppress her primal instincts. The iron control she’s kept on her inner bear is starting to fray, and she now fears for the lives of every living creature who comes in contact with her.

The Benoit brothers know that Clara is their Mate, but she has suppressed her inner animal to the point of inhibiting her natural abilities. Has she driven her inner bear mad? Can they convince her that her animal side is nothing to fear and learn to trust herself while embracing the idea of being their Mate?

LORI KING: Truth be told the biggest lesson I learned, the one I think that newbie authors need to learn the quickest, is to just walk away. We all get bad reviews, we all deal with catty people, we all get edits that hurt our pride, but retaliating or even responding in anger to any of it will come back to bite you in the ass. I've seen it over and over again, a new author gets a craptastic review from a reader that argues the logistics of a sex scene, or the historical facts of a time period, and the next thing you know the gloves are off and words are said that can't be taken back. It's easy to speak without thinking about the repercussions, but every word spoken in this business will affect your bottom line. Readers and other authors have long memories.

In book two of the Surrender Trilogy: The strength of a man is in the way he embraces his flaws, instead of denying them.

The Keegan brothers finally come together after spreading themselves across the globe for more than a decade.  Each fighting his own personal battle with the past and future, but there is no question that Zoey turns them all on.  Who will risk the pain of baring their soul for the promise of a happy future, and who will succumb to their weaknesses?

ERIN M. LEAF: Get out of the corner and follow your heart… I’ve been writing novels for years now, but I remember well what it felt like the first time I pushed past 10,000 words: fear, excitement, trepidation, and a terrible case of I-don’t-know-what-comes-next. What did I do? I went for a bicycle ride. Why? Because physical activity pushes me out of my head and releases my creative voice. The thing with writing is that you can paint yourself into a corner that seems inescapable. To get out of that illusory trap, you must set yourself free. I needed to trick my brain into that leap forward, so I could write something unexpected. I still have to do that sometimes, but at least now it's not such a jump into the unknown. These days I smudge the paint a LOT, but it's always worth it.

When a meteor explodes over Atlanta, infecting the world with a virus that turns people into zombies, Lark knows survival will be difficult. Unfortunately, when the zombies come, she may have no choice. And when Ben and Dillon break into their dorm in the nick of time, Lark finds herself reevaluating her insistence on independence.

Tragedy brings them together. The fight to survive creates a bond stronger than blood in a few short days. What’s a girl to do when faced with the zombie apocalypse? Does she trust in the two men she knows will keep her alive, or does she strike out on her own?

ERIKA REED: Everyone has been more than helpful since I have started in my writing journey. There have been a few bumps in the road, but thank goodness for my close author friends that were there to help me when I needed them most. And they know who they are. I would have to say the most valuable advice I would like to pass on to other authors would be to never depend on someone else to find and fix your mistakes. Never assume someone will find even the smallest mistake. It is your work and it reflects on you in the end.

Serena Pierce is back in Inferno for the first time in years. She planned on only being back long enough to see her friend Kasey get married. She hadn’t planned on the instant attraction that simmers between her and Inferno’s hot and sexy bikers, Mick and Ryder.

His happiness lies with her and Ryder, and he wants nothing more than to convince them both to stay and make a life together.

Serena is tired of being lonely, but staying in Inferno isn’t going to be easy. Will she allow her past to get in the way of the happiness she has longed for so long?

DORIS O'CONNOR: The one thing I learned about writing is that my characters are always right. I'm a complete and utter panster, and I write best when I shut off my inner editor and just let the characters tell me their story. No matter how outrageous, I simply let the words flow, and somehow it all works out at the end. I call this stage word vomit. In other words, just get the story down and then go back and edit. It's chaos for sure, but it also makes writing an adventure, and I've grown to love the curve balls my characters throw my way. :)

Tough undercover cop Mike Anderson does not submit to anyone, let alone a pint sized bundle of curves with a Mistress complex, who stands for everything he despises about BDSM.

Thrown into a world where the rules make no sense to him, he has to rely on his instincts, and they all scream one thing—submit to His Lady.

Scarlett Simpson is one of the most feared Mistresses at Club Spectrum and she has a score to settle. Mike's atrocious behavior needs addressing. If only she wasn't so attracted to the big hunk of a man, and he didn't prove so utterly responsive. As she explores his boundaries through Shibari and Knife Play, Scarlett can't help but get emotionally involved.

Submission freely given is a gift she treasures, but can she trust Mike to stay around once the case is over? When danger comes knocking, will Mike be able to protect her, or will this end in tragedy?

HONOR JAMES: I have to say that I’ve learned a lot since starting to write. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that I know absolutely nothing about the English language and how to punctuate. I’m sure some of the other authors will be nodding at that statement. I can string a sentence together and I always write it the way I would say it to someone if I was speaking. But apparently that’s not “actually” how it should be written or punctuated. No one’s perfect, I’m sure even the very best author out there has days that their editor has to wonder what they were doing when they wrote a paragraph, chapter or entire book. But this is why we have editors. To drive them absolutely insane of course! Okay, no, it’s to make us look good to our readers and make our stories enjoyable to read.

Trouble is following Patricia Graymont home. But she needs somewhere to hide for a while, to sort through everything that’s happened, and as the saying goes, there really is no place like home. The only problem is having to face the two men she still loves and once left behind.

Blake Jacobson and Corbin Franks have worked on the Graymont Ranch for as many years as they can remember. They have a love for the land and the work they do is to keep it as natural as possible. They also both love the owner’s daughter, but once upon a time, they had to let her go to become the woman they always knew she could be.

Her homecoming was everything Patty could hope for, and more. Already feeling a little raw emotionally, seeing Blake and Corbin again was like a healing balm to her soul. Now, all they have to do is survive the coming storm.

REBECCA JOYCE: Oh the life of a writer…Since I’ve started writing, I wish I could say it’s all been fun and games, that I’m living the sweet life on a sandy beach, sippin’ a margarita with a hot cabana boy named Marco at my beckon call…well, in my mind I am. In reality, I am a pajama wearing, coffee drinking manic, hurrying off to finish off my next manuscript, just so I can start the next. I’ve learned many thing since my first book like fingernails will grow back, hair can be dyed any color, and that sleep is totally over rated. But you know what…I LOVE every minute of my life and I wouldn’t change a thing. Story Excerpt

Forcing himself to relax, he smiled at her again. “What can I do for you, Kali?”
“Oh,” she said after blinking rapidly, as if she had forgotten why she had sought him out. “Yes, I…well, I was wondering if you maybe offer self-defense training or something.”
His body stiffened. What the fuck? Was some asshole bothering her? His eyes narrowed on her, and he noticed she was breathing rapidly now. Fuck! He was scaring her, but he couldn’t help it. If someone was bothering her they would be dealing with him. No one fucked with his fairy and got away with it.
“Why do you need self-defense training?” he asked slowly, trying to sound calmer than he felt.
“Well, I don’t really…I mean, every woman should know something, right?” Kali let out a light laugh that didn’t fool him for a minute.
“Kali, why do you need self-defense training?” he asked again, taking a step closer to her. “Is someone bothering you?”
“What? No!”
Her gaze fluttered back to his face, then trailed down over his bare chest. He wanted to shout with glee when his saw her pupils dilate as she took in his muscular form. He fought the urge to do something stupid like flex just to see her reaction. She looked away and a faint blush turned her cheeks a light-pink color that made his hands fist so he wouldn’t grab her.
Fuck, he had to get her out of here before he did something unforgivable. Like throw her down and ravish her until neither of them could speak. He barely held back a groan as she nibbled on her lower lip, then Kali turned away from him like she was going to leave.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have bothered you with this.”
Before she could take a step away from him, he took her hand in his, holding her in place. He felt her tremble and prayed it wasn’t out of fear. “Tell me, honey. I’m happy you finally came to visit me, but if something or someone is bothering you, I want to know what it is.”
She took a deep breath, and focused on staring at the heavy bags on the other side of the room. “My cousin is getting married soon, the second weekend of February, actually.”
Okay, that wasn’t what he was expecting. Deciding to wait her out, he stayed quiet and rubbed his fingers gently over hers, enjoying the feeling of her soft skin. Her shoulders slumped as if there were a heavy weight pressing there.
Damn it, he didn’t like seeing his fairy looking so…defeated.
“My boyfriend David just broke up with me. Well, I was going to break up with him, but he did it first and…never mind. Normally, I wouldn’t be too worried about this, but my cousin Bethany is marrying David’s brother, Aeron. My mother thought…well, she said maybe now was a good time to listen to David’s advice and lose a little weight.”
She broke up with her boyfriend? Kali was free? Hammer could feel the grin spreading on his face, then he froze, his entire body going rigid with battle ready awareness.
Hold the fuck up…what did she just say?
She let out a slight squeak, and Hammer realized he had squeezed her hand as his tried to fist. Rage washed through him at the thought of her doing something like that because her asshole of an ex belittled her like that.
“That motherfucker said that to you, and your mother agreed?” The words came out before he could stop them. Kali turned to him, looking at him with wide eyes, but he didn’t care if he’d shocked her.
“Jared…”
He loved how she called him by his real name. She was the only one who did. Christ, she could call him anything she wanted, but he’d really love to hear her scream out his name as he took her. Hearing that her boyfriend was now ghosted, Hammer wasn’t going to waste this opportunity. So what if she was too good for him, she was single now, but not for long.
His little fairy was going to belong to him.
Hammer forced himself to take a deep, cleansing breath, then let it out slowly, once again finding his calm center. Tonight he would make sure she knew that she didn’t have to worry about her ex and anything he’d said to her in the past. He would show her just how perfect she was…perfect for him.
“Come on, Kali. I think this conversation needs to happen over a drink. Let’s go over to The Fox Hole and sit down. That is, if you don’t mind going out with me after I’ve just gotten done with a workout?”
“No.”
A brow lifted as he paused. “You don’t want to be seen with me?”
“No! I meant, I don’t mind. I mean, of course I do. It’s just…Jared, I don’t understand,” she said on a rush, the confusion clear on her pretty face.
Hammer tilted his head to the side. “What don’t you understand?”
“Why you want to go talk about this. With me.”
He laughed. “Honey, you’ve got some explaining to do. We’ll go have a drink, and you can tell me why you think you need to listen to a bunch of stupid advice, then I can tell you why you’re perfect just the way you are.”
He hid his smile as she let out a startled sputter. Not giving her a choice, he pulled her over to where he left his shirt. He wished he had time for a shower, but he didn’t want to leave her alone too long so she would have time to reconsider. Releasing her momentarily, he pulled a black t-shirt over his head, then turned with a questioning look when he heard her sigh. He noticed she was blushing again and turned his back to her to grin as he pulled on a pair of dark-gray sweatpants over his shorts, then picked up his black hoodie. He’d seen that look on women’s faces before and knew exactly what it meant.
So, his little fairy liked his body.
He could definitely work with that.

As they drove through a forested area, a wicked idea flickered through her mind. Feeling mischievous, she slid one of her hands lower, exploring until she found the thick column of his shaft straining against his pants where it was trapped against his thigh. She could practically feel his hard cock pulsing against her palm as she slowly stroked him through the material of his pants and boxers.
“You better stop that, Kali. It’s gonna get you into trouble if you keep that up,” he warned.
She didn’t want to stop. Thinking back over their time together, she realized that this was the first time she had made the first move. He always seemed to know exactly how to arouse her to the point she was desperate to feel him inside her, but so far she had never instigated their love play. He always made love to her passionately, but without that primal urgency he had taken her with that first time they were together. She wanted that with him again. Wanted him to take her as if he couldn’t breathe with the need clawing through his system.
To be as wild and crazed for her as she was for him.
No longer willing to wait for him to take the lead, she refused to release her hold on his cock. There was something wildly erotic about stroking him while she couldn’t see what she was doing. Her clit pulsed in time to the blood flowing into his cock, making him thicker and harder in her hand.
“Do you really want me to stop?”
“Fuck no.”
Casting a quick glance around their surroundings, she was emboldened by the isolated area they were driving through. Using some of her newfound courage, she reached up and loosened the ties of his drawstring pants. Slipping her hand beneath the fabric of his boxers, she took his shaft into her hand. Feeling the bare length of him throbbing against her palm sent a shiver of need surging through her body so strong it left her breathless.
Revving the engine, he made a quick turn onto a small road that led into a secluded picnic area in the woods, never once losing control as he did. He drove the bike up onto a grassy area, away from the road, then turned it off and shoved down the kickstand with his foot. The silence was deafening after the throaty rumble of the machine cut off, and a wave of nervousness filled her when he didn’t move or speak. He just sat there with his large hands gripping the handlebars as she stroked his erection.
She slowly moved her hand up his shaft, loving that he was too big for her fingers to meet. She rubbed her thumb over the head of his cock, spreading the pre-cum leaking from the tip, and she felt his big body shudder.
“Kali,” he growled out her name, his chest billowing as he breathed out in hard pants.
“Jared?”
“You’re fucking torturing me.”
That had her hand pausing. “Do you want me to stop?”
“Hell no, but this is your one warning. If you don’t take your hand off my dick right now you’re gonna get fucked. Right here. Right now. I won’t be able to wait to get you to my house.”
The harsh tone of his voice had wisps of excitement whipping through her, and she bit her lip to hold back a moan. Instead of removing her hand, she squeezed him harder, drawing out a ragged groan from him. In a flash, he ripped off his helmet, throwing it on the ground. He turned in his seat, grabbing her around the waist so he could drag her off of the bike with him.
He pulled the helmet off of her head, tossing it next to his own, then his mouth slammed down on hers, claiming her with a brutal kiss that made her knees go weak. Her hands flew up, holding onto his arms to brace herself as he picked her up and sat her down sideways on the seat.
He shoved her legs apart, pressing between her thighs as he ravaged her mouth, tongue stroking deep.  She could feel the liquid heat coating her tight channel, her body preparing for his possession. Whenever he touched her or even smiled at her, she instantly became wet, but the vibration of the bike had her riding the edge already.
She wanted him now, so deep that he became a part of her.
He pulled back, his dark eyes filled with heat as he let out a primitive growl. “Damn it, woman. You’re driving me out of my fucking mind.”
She loved seeing that raw hunger on his face and embraced the moment by flicking her tongue out to trace his lower lip. “Good,” she whispered.

~ Guest: Erika Reed - Tempting Inferno ~

Serena Pierce is back in Inferno for the first time in years. She planned on only being back long enough to see her friend Kasey get married. She hadn’t planned on the instant attraction that simmers between her and Inferno’s hot and sexy bikers, Mick and Ryder.

Ryder Hudson is tired of life on the open road. Serena’s arrival in town could be the reason he’s been looking for to finally settle down. Mick Warner’s life is in Inferno, and after meeting Serena he’s ready to do anything to keep the woman who has captured his heart from leaving town. His happiness lies with her and Ryder, and he wants nothing more than to convince them both to stay and make a life together.

Serena is tired of being lonely, but staying in Inferno isn’t going to be easy. Will she allow her past to get in the way of the happiness she has longed for so long?

STORY EXCERPT

Serena looked over toward the makeshift bar watching Tara and her men. She couldn’t help but notice how happy they had made Tara. Serena knew that if a firecracker like Tara could one day meet and fall in love with two sexy men as Blake and Logan, there was still hope for her in the future. Tara had announced the great news that they would be getting married in a few months as well. It appeared that the men in Inferno didn’t want to waste any time getting hitched to their women. They were eager to make them theirs as soon as possible.
Serena stood near the back door of Kasey’s father’s house and took in all the smiling faces that seemed to bring out the best of people when they attended a happy occasion. If weddings were supposed to be such happy occasions, why did Serena feel so sad and lonely?
Suddenly Serena felt a large, warm presence standing behind her.
“Hello,” a deep, throaty, masculine voice said from behind her.
Serena felt a slight chill go up her neck by the erotic sound of his voice. She knew exactly whose voice that belonged to. Serena tried to be sophisticated and graceful about coming face-to-face with the mysterious man she had seen earlier. But when she turned on her five-inch heels too fast, with the help of a set of strong hands steadied her from falling flat on her ass.
   “Whoa. Easy there, pretty lady.”
“Sorry. I guess you startled me.”
Serena held onto the thick corded forearms of the dreamy, dark-haired, blue-eyed dreamboat that she saw standing at the bar earlier. Standing next to him, smiling at her, was his attractive California-style-looking friend. He definitely fit the stereotype of the blond hair, blue-eyed surfer.
“We’ve been waiting for the opportunity to meet you. You’ve been hard to get alone,” the dark-haired handsome devil said.
Serena released her hold on his arms and took a step back. She was so nervous standing there in front of the two most gorgeous men she had ever seen. Serena twiddled a curly long blonde strand of her hair around her finger. This was a nervous twitch she had accrued since she was a little girl. To some it appeared she was a dumb blonde twiddling her hair just to get the attention of someone she was talking to. Serena knew it was a nervous curse she had always possessed.
“Why would you want the chance to meet me?” Serena asked in a squeaky voice.
The blond stepped forward into her personal space. “Because you are the prettiest woman I have ever laid eyes on and I wanted the chance to get to know you a little better.” The blond gave her a once over and said, “I have always liked the color pink on a woman’s body. But you in this pink dress…I seem to have acquired a new fondness for the color.”
Serena pinched her thighs together to help elevate the throbbing that was coming from her pulsing clit. Serena had heard corny come-on lines before from a handful of men in the past, but never from two golden-gods such as these sexy men.
“My name is Ryder,” the dark-haired one said as he stared into her eyes. He then turned to look at his friend, “And this here is Mick.”
Ryder and Mick. Holy cow, these two guys even had hot and sexy names to match their panty-wetting good looks. Back at home she avoided men this attractive. She always felt as though they were way out of her league and avoided the bad-boy look on men like these two. It was always just polite to be cordial and hope that they were just being nice until they got bored with her and moved on to their next prey in the vicinity.
“My name is Serena. It’s nice to meet the both of you.”
“You’re not from around here, are you?” Mick asked.
Serena shook her head, “No. I just came for the weekend to be in Kasey’s wedding. I live in Oregon.”
“That makes sense.” Mick nodded to Ryder.
Serena was confused by his statement. “What does?”
“It makes sense that I haven’t seen you around town yet or else I would have made sure I had the chance to meet you sooner.”
Serena felt a slight blush creep to her cheeks. “Yes…well…I should probably go see if Kasey needs anything before they get ready to head off to their honeymoon.” Serena started to walk off when a large, rough-skinned hand gripped hers to spin her around to face him. The sexy Ryder was now almost nose-to-nose with her.
Ryder looked over her shoulder. “It looks to me like they are already sneaking out.”
Serena looked over her shoulder to see Kasey giggling as her three husbands followed her to where the limo was waiting for them to take them away on their honeymoon. Serena turned and looked at Mick and Ryder as they stared at her, both wearing sexy grins.
Mick reached up and grabbed her other free hand. “Can we go somewhere private and talk? I want to know more about you, Serena.”
Serena couldn’t find any reason to say no to him. She was so intrigued by them. The only thing she could think about was what it would be like to have sex with them. She wasn’t the type to go to bed with a guy on the first date, but with these two hotties she would do anything they asked her to. Of course, talking with them and getting to know them wasn’t the first thing on her mind. Serena’s skin was on fire from where they had touched her. She had a feeling that these two weren’t selfish in the bedroom department. The fact was she could come just by the deep sounds of their deep, penetrating voices that shot an electric volt straight to her clit.
   “Okay.”

ADULT EXCERPT

“The reason why we call you these pet names has nothing to do with forgetting your name, Serena. It has to do with the way we see and feel about you. When I first saw you at the wedding, you were walking down the aisle, looking like the most beautiful angel floating down the aisle. I nearly lost my breath. You were a vision of pure beauty in my eyes,” he said, before picking up her hand and kissing the inside of her wrist.
“And as for me calling you baby, you just look so sweet and innocent, like a delicate flower that needs fragile attention.” Ryder said as he kissed the side of her neck.
Serena closed her eyes in pleasure. She could feel his breath against her neck as he pulled from the kiss. She could hear herself moan in contentment.
“Serena, you have to know that we don’t bring women back here. This is our private sanctuary. You have to know that since the day we met you we have both been dying to get a taste of you.” Mick said as he widened her legs and began rubbing her inner thighs.
“What Mick is trying to say is that we want to pleasure you, baby. Have you ever been with two men before?”
“No,” she heard herself whisper. “Are you two going to seduce me now?”
Ryder’s light-blue eyes darkened as they held hers. “Is that what you want, Serena? Have you fantasized about when the two of us finally take you for the first time? Both of our mouths on your soft, delicate, porcelain skin?” He then leaned in to kiss the nape of her neck. She could feel his breath against her skin as a shiver ran down her spine.
Mick took the blanket from her lap and tossed it aside. His hands were warm and rough as they made their way up her inner thighs, as they headed toward her now wet pussy. She allowed her thighs to widen as Mick’s thumb ran lazy circles around the front of her panties.
“Please touch me,” she softly said.
“Oh we’ll touch you, baby. We’ll touch you softer and deeper than anyone has ever touched this precious, sexy skin. We’re going do things to your body that every woman has only dreamed or read about in books.” Ryder turned her face so that she was now facing him. He then leaned in and took hold of her face to kiss her.
Ryder’s lips were thick and full as they took over her mouth that she felt herself melting into. Serena took a mental note that this man could seriously kiss. She loved the feel of her fingers as they ran through his thick hair. It was a bit longer than Mick’s. She enjoyed having something to hold onto as he kissed her.
Mick’s hands were busy trying to tug the sides of her panties down her thighs. He was careful not to jar her ankle as it rested on the coffee table. Serena could feel the light air blowing across her exposed pussy lips. She could feel her nipples pebble as Ryder lifted her shirt over her head.
“You have the most amazing breasts, baby.” Ryder’s hands formed and molded her nipples as he pinched and tweaked them to the point of almost pain.
Mick shifted her legs so that she was more open and exposed. Serena had never been this bare and open like this before. Most of the men she had dated were just “wham, bam, thank you, ma’am.” She could tell that these two hunks were going to take their time and pleasure her body the way she had always dreamed of.
“I can’t wait to taste you, angel. You should see how delicious your lips look to me right now, all glistening and wet with your juices. I love a woman that has a bare pussy.” Mick leaned his face in closer to the V between her thighs.
Serena could feel her clit throbbing as he slid his hands beneath her buttocks, scooting her ass closer to the edge of the couch and bringing her pussy closer to his face. She wanted to grind her pelvis deep into his face.
Ryder leaned over and wrapped his wet lips and mouth around her hardened nipples and began to suck on them. She loved having her nipples sucked on during sex, especially when she was on top. That was one thing that made her body writhe and convulse and bring her closer to orgasm. Serena also enjoyed playing with her nipples when she toyed with her vibrator in the privacy of her bedroom. Her nipples were extra sensitive to the point that she knew if a man tried hard enough he could make her come with just his mouth. Maybe Ryder would be the one that finally proved that theory correct. And she couldn’t wait to find out.
“Baby, your nipples are begging for my attention. Look how sweet and ripe they look,” Ryder said before bending forward to take one into his mouth.
Mick slid his tongue up and down her slit, making her even wetter than she already was. He took her nub between his lips and sucked on it causing her to moan and thrash her head against the back of the couch. She tried not to squirm too much so she didn’t twist her ankle. She was concentrating on the pleasure they were summoning on her body and knew there would be a price to pay with her ankle in the future, but she didn’t care. Pleasure would overcome the pain at this very moment, hands down.
